● Full Walkthrough
The very first thing to do when entering Abyss is speak to the Kraken and complete all seven of his quests. These ask you to catch fish, open geodess, and purchase three oxygen tubes and three harpoon guns.
Finishing these quests rewards a significant amount of money — the most important early income source. You can also accept quests from other island NPCs (like Mr. Black) at the same time since objectives overlap heavily.
Walk around the starting spawn and accept quests from every NPC that has one. Key quest-givers include Verilla, Mr. Black, and the Scientist NPC.
The Scientist gives you the Teleporter Quest: find five items scattered around the island — a toilet, toilet paper, antennas, and more. Just walk around the island and you'll spot them all easily. Completing it unlocks the teleporter, letting you fast-travel between zones — well worth doing early.
If you're unsure how to complete the Teleporter Quest, watch the video below for a full walkthrough.
After the tutorial, head to the bottom of the Settings panel and enter working codes. You can copy the latest codes directly from our homepage.
The most valuable code is MONKE, which gives you 200 Shards — used to reroll your Race. Unlike other games, Shards are earnable through many methods in Abyss, making race rerolls fairly accessible.
Recommended race target: Fish Race — grants extra oxygen capacity and swim speed, which are both highly useful in the early game.
Before leaving the starting area, swim from the back of the base out to the submarine visible in the distance. Speak to the Diver NPC — his quests involve delivering a series of packages and are straightforward to complete.
Wait until you have the Puffer Fish Tank before attempting this — without it, your oxygen supply won't be enough to finish the deliveries. Completing as many runs as possible can earn around $2,000–$3,000, setting you up well for the next zone.
If you're unsure how to complete the Diver Delivery Quest, watch the video below for a full walkthrough.
Once you've finished all of the Kraken's quests and have the Puffer Fish Tank, there's no reason to stay on the starting island. Head toward the desert region visible on the map to enter the Ancient Sands biome.
On arrival, speak to Marcus to pick up new quests. Your first purchase targets are the Boat (~$5,500) and then the Crossbow, totaling around $10,000. If you're short on cash, farm small creatures in the shallow water with your Advanced Harpoon Gun until you can afford both.
After that, your next savings goal is $17,500 for the Wasted Gun — 120 damage, 2.2s cooldown, 0.75 range. This weapon lets you catch larger fish and dramatically increases your income per run.
When farming for money, the core rule is to prioritize fish with mutation icons over simply targeting the biggest fish. Mutation value multipliers far outweigh size bonuses.
Large fish like Mahi-Mahi and Salmon are already significantly more valuable than small fish and should be your main targets. But any time you see a mutation icon on a fish — no matter the size — catch it first.
⚠️ Watch out for hostile fish: Puffer Fish and Sea Lions will actively chase you. Dying causes you to lose 25% of your carried fish and some cash.
With the Boat Tube and Wasted Gun, make your way to Spirit Route — the endgame biome.
⚠️ Warning: Your oxygen depletes extremely fast here. Stock up on oxygen tanks before going. Follow the path to find the oxygen pocket inside the area to avoid dying en route. Claim the teleporter so you can easily return in the future.
Your targets: Mag Gun ($47,500) and Oxy Tube ($57,000). Once you have both, you're effectively in the endgame.
● Money-Making Tips
Mutations Beat Size
Mutation value multipliers far outweigh fish size bonuses. Spot a mutation icon? Drop everything and catch it.
Target Big Fish
Mahi-Mahi and Salmon sell for significantly more than small fish. Skip small non-mutation catches to save time.
Server Hop for Whales
Whales are the highest-value fish in the game. Keep switching servers until you land in an instance with heavy whale spawns.
Don't Die
Death costs you 25% of your carried fish and some cash. Give Puffer Fish and Sea Lions a wide berth — they actively chase you.
Play the Geode Mini-Game
While fishing, watch for the chest icon and fill the green bar to earn a geode. Best possible reward: Holy Flower artifact — reduces oxygen drain while boosting speed and damage.
Stack All Quests at Once
Hold every available quest simultaneously. One catch can advance multiple quests at the same time — it's far faster than doing them one by one.
● Mutation Fish Priority Tier List
| Tier | Mutation | Value Rating | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Abyss | Highest | Rarest and most valuable multiplier — catch immediately on sight |
| A | Angelic | Very High | Second tier — significantly more valuable than base fish |
| B | Shadow | High | Third tier — worth prioritizing over non-mutation fish |
| B | Rooted | Above Average | Fourth tier — still better value than no mutation |
| C | No Mutation | Base | Only worth catching if it's a large fish (Mahi-Mahi, Salmon); skip small fish |
● Gear Upgrade Path
Your first upgrade priority. Save up for this immediately — it's a meaningful boost across all stats from the very start.
Obtained through quests. Required before attempting the Diver's delivery quests — without it, your oxygen won't last the full run.
First purchase target in Ancient Sands. Buy the Boat Tube, then the Crossbow — together around $10,000.
120 damage, 2.2s cooldown, 0.75 range. Unlocks larger fish and dramatically increases your income per session.
Core endgame weapon. The Wasted Gun can farm this amount in a reasonable timeframe. Enables late-game fish and whale catches.
Save this after the Mag Gun. Once you have both, you're fully in the endgame and ready for the Spirit Route grind.
● Endgame Progression
Your next major endgame targets are the Lost Spirit Tube ($160,000) and the Lost Spirit Gun ($150,000). Both are available from Victor inside the Spirit Cave — you'll need to speak to the NPC guarding the cave entrance to unlock access first.
Whales are the highest-value fish in the game. The best way to find them is server hopping — keep switching servers until you land in one with heavy whale spawns.
If there are no whales in your current server, keep farming high-mutation fish in the Spirit Route. Again: mutations matter more than size.
The current best weapons are the Ruined Gun and the Plunger Gun, with the Ruined Gun likely holding the top spot. Neither is an immediate requirement — the Lost Spirit gear will carry you through everything until the next major update.
Follow the priority order: Mag Gun → Oxy Tube → Lost Spirit set → chase the BiS weapons when the opportunity arises.
● Frequently Asked Questions
What's the fastest way to make money as a beginner?
Accept all quests at once and farm them in parallel — never do them one at a time. Focus on catching mutation fish, especially larger ones like Mahi-Mahi. The Wasted Gun farming method in Ancient Sands is the most efficient early-game money route. Don't waste Shards on cosmetics early — use them to reroll your Race instead.
What order should I upgrade my oxygen tubes?
Normal Tube ($425) → Puffer Fish Tank (quest reward) → Boat Tube (Ancient Sands, ~$5,500) → Oxy Tube ($57,000) → Lost Spirit Tube ($160,000). Oxygen tubes directly control which zones you can reach and how efficiently you can farm — always prioritize them over weapons.
When should I leave the starting island?
Leave once you've completed all seven of the Kraken's quests and have the Puffer Fish Tank. Before heading out, squeeze in the Diver's delivery quests for an extra $2,000–$3,000. There's no reason to stay past that point.
What are geodess and what's the best reward?
Geodess are obtained via a fishing mini-game — when a chest icon appears near a fish, hover over it to fill a green bar within the time limit. Take them to Verilla to crack open for artifact rewards that give passive bonuses. The best artifact is the Holy Flower — it reduces oxygen consumption while boosting your speed and damage. Different zones drop different geode types (starting area = Mossy Geodess; Ancient Sands = Cactus Geodess).
What does Race do and which should I aim for?
Your Race provides passive attribute bonuses. Shards are spent to reroll your Race (result is random). The best early-game target is Fish Race — it grants extra oxygen capacity and swim speed, both of which are extremely useful throughout the early and mid game. Compared to other Roblox games, Shards are relatively easy to accumulate in Abyss, so don't be afraid to reroll a few times.
What do I need before heading to Spirit Route?
At minimum, bring the Boat Tube and Wasted Gun. Spirit Route drains oxygen extremely fast, so stock up on oxygen tanks before going. Once inside, find the oxygen pocket to stay alive. Claim the teleporter immediately so you can return easily. Look for Jeff's Shop nearby to restock on supplies.
